CPA Australia (Certified Practising Accountant) is a professional designation in accounting and finance, recognised widely around the world and particularly across the Asia–Pacific region. It is not, by itself, a licence to practise as an auditor.

CPA Australia provides skills assessment services for certain accounting and finance occupations. Visa outcomes depend on the requirements of the immigration authority and each applicant's circumstances.
The CPA Australia programme has two levels
Building knowledge from the foundations through to advanced level.
CPA Foundation
After CPA Australia assesses your academic record, you may be asked to complete one or more Foundation exams before you are eligible to start the CPA Program.
- The number of subjects depends on your assessment
- The core Foundation exams commonly comprise FA, BF, FAR and MA
- EM and BL have not been a general requirement since November 2023
CPA Professional
Focused on advanced knowledge and real-world application: analytical thinking, decision-making and management capability.
- Typically four compulsory subjects plus two of six electives
- Tax and Audit may become compulsory depending on your assessment
- Global Strategy and Leadership can only be taken after the other compulsory subjects
